WITH THE Australian Body Art Festival 2019 fast approaching, it gives me great pleasure to announce our sponsored artists for #teamfacepaintshopaustralia, starting with Yeni Redding from Darwin, NT.

Artist: Yeni Redding, Yenz Face Painting, Darwin, NT

THIS WILL BE YENI's first experience of the Australian Body Art Festival, as well as her first time competing.

About 15 years ago, Yen says she fumbled her way into the face painting world. Raising a family and juggling commitments meant that face painting was on-and-off until 2012 when she became a full time children’s entertainer.

“I created a monster now we’re living the dream,” she laughs.

Yen said she’s always loved being creative but failed art in high school because the theory made no sense to her.

“So I just wouldn’t do it. Hence why I’m a self taught artist. I seriously never dreamed I’d be painting for a career, who would’ve even thought Face Painting could be a career?”

“I’ve always been interested in Body Painting but there’s not much call for it in Darwin. And being a time poor Artist/Mum/Slave to the trade I never made time for it until this opportunity made me. So I’m jumping in the deep end with no idea of what I’m doing but so excited about sharing good times with you all.”

“I’m beyond Super excited to be apart of ABAF and representing Face Paint Shop Australia to boot, What an honour.”

Yen will compete in Body Paint: Brush and Sponge as well as Face Paint categories at the Australian Body Art Festival 2019

About Team Face Paint Shop Australia and our Artist Sponsorships

Representing a mix of talent, novice, experience and enthusiasm, #teamfacepaintshopaustralia will be loud and proud at this year’s event, with 5 artists, 6 models, and a support crew to keep us all in line (good luck with that!).

This is the third year we've offered an Artist’s Sponsorship Package, which includes entry fees and accommodation, as well as product.

"It’s an honour for me to pay it forward and bring face and body artists together to enjoy the celebration of our ‘industry’ at the Australian Body Art Festival," said Kate, owner of Face Paint Shop Australia.

"As you might expect, there's a lot of costs involved to attend an event like this, especially when traveling interstate, so I’m happy to ease the burden for our artists."

Individual sponsorship packages are valued $750 per artist.

"It's not just about the financial assistance though. I think the team support factor really helps first time competitors to push themselves beyond the comfort zone and make the leap from dreamer to do-er.

"I’m both humbled and excited to have such wonderful people to share the experience with and represent my business.

"I’d also like to acknowledge the many talented artists that applied for sponsorship with me again this year, and I’m sorry I’m not able to take everyone. To anyone who’s still sitting on the fence, wondering if they should take part; I’d say... what are you waiting for? If you go into the experience with the aim to have fun, I can guarantee you’ll enjoy it"
