Theme of the Week: Tropical face and body paint

Hello Painters!

It's time to introduce our next theme of the week: Tropical face and body paint designs

Why? Because we want to challenge you to try something new, and share your work with us, for the chance to win one of our weekly giveaways ($25 store credit), or our end of year Second Chance Grand Prize (a $250 gift card).

If you need inspiration, or a quick lesson, check out Lisa Joy Young's video tutorial (below) where she demonstrates how to face paint a tropical princess using the onestroke technique.

Please note: while we encourage you to paint this design, you don't NEED to paint this design to enter our week can enter more than one design - that's totally up to you!

The Prizes:

How to Enter:

• Entries open at 10am on Monday, 26 February 2018 and close at 10pm on Thursday 1 March, 2018 (Sydney time)
• Entries to be submitted by this form
• Submit a photo of your own work (ie painted by you) that best interprets the theme of the week
• Multiple entries welcome, eligibility requirements apply

Who Can Enter:

• You must be over 18 years of age, or have express permission from a parent/guardian to enter;
• You must be a resident of Australia, New Zealand, The Philipines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, The Soloman Islands, Thailand.

Entry Criteria:

• The winning entry will be selected and judged on the following criteria:
  
  • Does the design represent the given “theme of the week”?
  • skill and interpretation
  • the quality of the image
  • the quality of the caption

How we choose the winner:

1. Your entries will be featured in our online gallery, and anyone can vote for their favourites;
2. A shortlist of 20 weekly finalists is selected by popular vote;
3. The finalists will be considered by a panel of judges;
4. A weekly winner will be selected, with consideration given to the entry criteria listed above;

How to vote

• Voting closes at 10pm on Friday (AEDT);
• Voters nominate their favourite design/s by liking them via the competition gallery;
• Voters can vote for more than one design;

SECOND CHANCE GRAND PRIZE

1. On 1 December, 2018, we'll launch the Second Chance Grand Prize;
2. All eligible entries from our weekly themed competitions will be displayed in a new gallery, with votes reset to zero;
3. Voters nominate their favourite design/s by liking them via the competition gallery;
4. Voting will open for the Second Chance Grand Prize at 10am on 1 December, 2018 and close at 10pm on 12 December, 2018;
5. Voters select the top 50 most popular entries to be our grand finalists
6. The finalists will be considered by a panel of judges for the overall winner, based on the criteria above;
7. Entry into the Second Chance Prize is automatic - that is, once you enter any of our weekly giveaways, you'll also be entered into our BONUS SECOND CHANCE GRAND PRIZE and be in the running to win a $250 gift card to spend with us!

Why enter?

Why not? If you haven't tried Lisa's Tropical Island Princess face paint mask yet, it's time to challenge yourself! Maybe see how it looks with a different colour palette, or the same; and if you already have tropical themed designs in your portfolio, then share them! Remember, at the end of the year we'll be giving away a $250 gift card - and every entry in our weekly giveaway is an extra entry in our major prize. It could be the best Christmas Gift ever - a huge makeover for your face paint kit! 

At the very least, it's fun to try a new design and add it to your portfolio. Have a go! I dare you!

Winning Entries

Entries will be published on our website to inspire other face painters. We'll make sure to include a caption or watermark so you're work is attributed.
